As the size of the product increases, the challenges in flatness control, cutting, and assembly also become more complex. Different materials have varying shrinkage rates and tolerances, so we make precise adjustments to thickness and tolerances based on the actual product requirements. At the same time, we maintain strict temperature control during the vacuum forming process to minimize surface defects such as ripples or waviness.
This is a car body shell we manufactured for a domestic company, with a maximum length of 2,500mm. We provided comprehensive technical support throughout the vacuum forming design process, including optimization for lightweight performance, durability, and surface finish. It was also essential to ensure that the dimensions and tolerances of each assembly component were kept within reasonable limits, allowing for smooth fitting and assembly in later stages.
For large-sized products like this, we strictly control the thickness and forming width of each part. In some cases, manual edge trimming is required to maintain consistency in both appearance and structure.
As a result, the overall vehicle mass was reduced by 10% compared to the initial design. This highlights one of the key advantages of vacuum forming—lightweighting. This product is a toy car front part that we manufactured for a domestic toy company. As shown, it features a combination of multiple colors.
