Presented by Dongguan Ditai Vacuum Forming Plastic Group
ABS is a terpolymer of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B) and styrene (S). It has the common properties of these three components. “A” has the resistance to chemical corrosion, heat resistance and hardness, “B” has high elasticity and toughness, and “S” makes it have the characteristics of thermoplastic which are good for vacuum forming, and improve electrical properties. The different proportion of the three components makes its properties different. Therefore, ABS plastic is a kind of “tough, hard and rigid” material with easy availability, good comprehensive performance, low price and wide application. ABS are widely used in many industries:
1. Automobile industry
ABS is widely used for automotive parts. For example, the instrument panel uses PC / ABS as the skeleton, and the car surface is covered with PVC / ABS / bovc film. In addition, ABS is also widely used for interior decoration parts, like the glove boxes, trim parts of door sill and water tank mask and many other parts are made of ABS.
2. Mechanical equipment
Because of the features of highly polished surface and good formability, ABS is good for office equipment and machine which need beautiful appearance and to be soft to touch. So ABS is widely used for telephone shell, memory shell, computer, fax machine and copier.
3. Household appliances
Because ABS has the features of highly polished surface and good formability, it has a wide market in household appliances and small household appliances. ABS is also widely used as raw material in household fax machines, audio and VCD. Many parts made of ABS are also used in vacuum cleaners, and parts made of ABS are also widely used in kitchen ware.
