Meet Our Experts

Every article, case study, and technical guide published on DitaiPlastic.com is written or reviewed by professionals who work on the factory floor every day. No outsourced content. No generalist writers. The knowledge here comes directly from 40+ years of hands-on thermoforming and precision CNC production experience.

Mr. Dehong Zou

Founder & Chief Engineer — Dongguan Ditai Plastic Products Co., Ltd.

In the industry since 1985  |  Dongguan Ditai Plastic, founded 1997

About

Mr. Dehong Zou has spent more than 40 years mastering every dimension of plastic forming — from raw sheet selection to finished cosmetic surface. In 1997, he founded Dongguan Ditai Plastic Products Co., Ltd. with a single conviction: that a manufacturer built on honesty and disciplined craftsmanship would outlast any competitor built on shortcuts. Before the company had investors or credit, Mr. Zou assembled Ditai’s first industrial thermoforming machine from scratch — sourcing steel sections, heating elements, and a vacuum pump with the family’s savings, and building the frame by hand.

That machine ran. Customers came back. The company grew.

Today, Mr. Zou personally oversees process engineering for the factory’s most demanding accounts — including precision cosmetic packaging projects for Louis Vuitton and Guerlain (LVMH Group) — where surface finish and dimensional consistency tolerances leave zero margin for error. His guiding principle has never changed: “Honesty first. Do things well. Never disappoint customers.”

Areas of Expertise

  • Heavy-gauge thermoforming process engineering (sheet gauges up to 10 mm)
  • Vacuum forming mold design and temperature profiling
  • Automotive quality systems — IATF 16949 production planning
  • Tooling material selection for high-cycle production molds
  • DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review for complex geometry parts
  • Luxury cosmetic-grade surface finish specification and grading
  • Plant layout and machine capacity planning (20,000 m² factory management)

DitaiPlastic Engineering Team

Process & Tooling Division — CNC, 5-Axis Machining & Mold Making

Combined experience: 60+ years  |  44 CNC and 5-axis machining centers on-site

About

Ditai’s Process and Tooling Division is the engineering core of the factory. The team manages an in-house machining floor of 28 CNC trimming centers and 16 five-axis CNC machining centers — one of the largest dedicated thermoforming tooling operations in Guangdong Province. With combined experience exceeding 60 years across mold making, CNC programming, and production engineering, the team handles everything from first-article sample fixtures to high-volume trim tools for automotive structural panels.

Every customer quote at Ditai includes a free DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review conducted by this team. They evaluate draw ratios, wall thickness distribution, undercut risk, trim path geometry, and material behaviour under heat before a single tool cut is made. That front-loaded engineering discipline is why Ditai can offer a 7-day fastest tooling and first-article sample turnaround without sacrificing dimensional accuracy.

Technical content published under this byline reflects the team’s collective expertise in process control, tooling engineering, and precision CNC machining for thermoformed components.

Areas of Expertise

  • DFM review — draw ratio analysis, wall thinning prediction, draft angle optimisation
  • Tolerance engineering for thermoformed parts (±0.5 mm and tighter on trimmed edges)
  • In-house mold and fixture fabrication — aluminum, epoxy, and composite tooling
  • 5-axis CNC programming for complex 3D trim paths and routed apertures
  • Material selection guidance — ABS, PC, PETG, HDPE, PP, ASA, acrylic
  • Prototype-to-production tooling strategy (no MOQ — single unit to 100,000+)
  • Forming machine setup and process parameter documentation

Process guides, tooling deep-dives, material comparisons, and DFM case studies authored by the Engineering Team will be listed here as they are published.

DitaiPlastic Quality Assurance Team

IATF 16949 & ISO Compliance — Automotive, Industrial & Luxury Brand Quality

Active certifications: IATF 16949  |  ISO 9001:2015  |  ISO 14001:2015  |  ISO 45001:2018

About

Ditai’s Quality Assurance Team holds and maintains four active international certifications simultaneously — IATF 16949 (automotive production quality), ISO 9001:2015 (quality management systems), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management), and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety). Maintaining all four in a live production environment requires documented control plans, real-time inspection discipline, and a team that treats quality as a manufacturing input, not an afterthought.

For automotive clients — including tier-one supply chain programmes for VinFast and Foxconn production lines — the QA team manages the complete PPAP documentation package: dimensional reports, FMEA analysis, control plans, and material certifications. For luxury brand clients such as Louis Vuitton and Guerlain (LVMH Group), the team applies cosmetic surface finish grading protocols that define exactly what constitutes an acceptable Class-A appearance surface under specified lighting and viewing conditions.

Technical content published under this byline covers quality systems, compliance processes, inspection methodology, and surface finish standards for thermoformed plastic components.

Areas of Expertise

  • IATF 16949 compliance — PPAP documentation, APQP, control plan management
  • FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for thermoformed structural and cosmetic parts
  • ISO 9001:2015 internal audit and corrective action management
  • Cosmetic surface finish grading — Class-A standards for luxury brand packaging
  • Dimensional inspection — CMM reporting, first-article inspection (FAI) protocols
  • Material traceability and certificate-of-conformance documentation
  • Environmental and occupational safety compliance (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001)
